Amazing breakfasts

I thought I'd do a little post on what my breakfast has been lately.
I live, as some of you know, in an apartment without a lot of kitchen space. Or counter space. I share it with another girl whose name is Sarah who I really like... we make biscuits together on occasion (bisquick) and I watch her play video games or we watch Alton Brown. But anyway... because of this lack of kitchen space I haven't gotten many awesome kitchen gadgets nor have I brought out the ones I already own from my parents house in Colorado.

But I did get this little kitchen gadget the other day. It's a drip coffee brewer. So I can finally drink my bag of Cinnamon Spice Dunkin' Donuts Coffee I've had in the freezer for over a year (ahem). I've been having it with heavy cream (I know, it's horrible, hahaha) and a bit of brown sugar.

As well as, for breakfast, some yogurt (I like the Dannon Light N Fits forr the texture, but Yoplait Lights are nice too. This one was blackberry!) with some Cascadian Farm Chocolate Almond Granola and a liiittle bite of poptart. Whole grain cinnamon brown sugar, to be exact.

And some berries.

Gosh, these have been amazing breakfasts. <3

Brown sugar in coffee? How was that? I've never heard of doing that before.

It's good!! We once had a ham bake off in college where a friend and I made ham versus one another. I made Dr. Pepper ham in a slow cooker. But he brought some friends who made espresso after dinner and used some of this very, very dark brown sugar that I had at the time. The deepness of that sugar sweetened but also deepened the espresso.
I like the flavour of brown sugar, it's rich. To me, it's rich. I like using raw sugar too. But the brown sugar just seems like it's got the deeper flavors that pair with coffee.

You should try it and tell me what you think. I usually drink my coffee black but I really wanted to do cream lately. I only use like a single teaspoon, but it might be worth it to try a bit more!

I usually don't drink coffee, but I made some this morning just to see how it tasted with brown sugar. I must say I was pleasantly surprised. I don't usually like sweetened drinks but strong black coffee with some brown sugar tasted really good. I know what you mean about brown sugar's richness. I didn't add any cream, so next time I'll have to add cream and brown sugar and see how that goes.

How did I miss this post?!

I tend to use a french press for coffee in the morning (you would LOVE it, I'm sure of it) and I really think that a little brown sugar in with the ground coffee, I could get a similar effect. I'll have to give that a try. :)

Also, this has all but reminded me to start eating more breakfasts at home. Those berries look delicious.
